STUDENTS

Our primary goal is not just to help students earn their high school diploma, but to prepare them thoroughly for college and career readiness. This commitment is reflected in our unique blend of a rigorous class learning environment and individualized support through a student-centered interaction. We offer after-school activities such as regents, after-school tutoring, and student clubs to students. Our school community works together to support enrichment programs, attendance, youth development, social and mental health services, and instruction.

Student Resources

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL

It is the firm belief of the NYCPS that an environment cannot be supportive if it is not culturally responsive. Culturally responsive environments “affirm racial and cultural identities; develop students’ abilities to connect across lines of difference; elevate historically marginalized voices; and empower areas of social change”. To advance equity, now, and to be culturally responsive, we must ensure that we are creating supportive environments for our students, families and staff during this critical time in our nation.

Health Services

Our schools work hard to avoid the spread of illnesses at school. This is one of the reasons students are required to get certain vaccines before starting school for the first time. Please see click on health services to read about different services such as health requirement, immunization, section 504 accommodations, and school based health centers,

STUDENT MEALS

Breakfast, lunch, and afterschool meals are accessible to all NYC public school students during the school year. We thoughtfully create our menus to make sure that students get the nutrients they need to think clearly and concentrate on learning. Seeing students succeed in school is what drives our passion to serve high-quality meals every day.

METRO CARDS

Schools distribute student MetroCards to eligible students at the beginning of each semester, and as needed during the school year. You can immediately use your student MetroCard at every subway and local bus. Student MetroCards cannot be used on express buses. Student MetroCards are:
Different from “regular” MetroCards sold to the public
Good for three trips each school day; allowing a student to travel to school, from school to an after-school activity, and from that activity to home
Only to be used by the student to whom it was assigned
For traveling to and from school and school-related activities between 5:30AM and 8:30PM
For traveling only on days when the student’s school is open for classes
Valid for one school semester

DOE LOGIN

Every New York City public school student has a DOE account. It is created automatically when you enroll in school. Your DOE account stays the same the entire time you are in school. With your DOE account, you can access all DOE technology platforms. Some of the platforms include TeachHub, Google for Education, iLearnNYC, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Express, LucidChart and Lucid Spark, PearDeck, and Zoom.
